For musicians new to synthesizers, Roland announces the most friendly and fun analog-modeling instrument on the market: the SH-201. For synth pros, the SH-201 will remind them of why they fell in love with synthesizers in the first place. Yes, the sh-201 is a digital synth pretending to be analog, and there is totally nothing wrong with that - and that's why they call them VA synths. This SH fits perfectly on what i do, create and produce. The panels are well-laid out that i know even those who are new to synthesizers would appreciate very much. And the sounds that you could come up with this noise-maker are something even professionals would. For musicians new to synthesizers, Roland announces the most friendly and fun analog-modeling instrument on the market: the SH-201. For synth pros, the SH-201 will remind them of why they fell in love with synthesizers in the first place. Simply, the SH-201 is a blast to play!

The Roland SH-201 is a discontinued 49 key,[2] 10-voice polyphonicvirtual analogue synthesizer introduced in 2006 by the Roland Corporation. The SH-201 was discontinued in 2010. At the NAMM 2010 show Roland introduced its successor, the Roland SH-01 Gaia.

Apr 08, 2020  As a result, synthesizer keyboards have become increasingly popular in the past decades, and there are many reputable companies now that produce various models. If you are looking to buy a synthesizer keyboard, you ‘ll probably feel overwhelmed by the huge variety that exists out there. Roland GAIA SH-01 37-key Virtual Analog Synthesizer Features at a Glance: 3 virtual analog engines onboard, each with a dedicated oscillator, a filter, an amplifier, an envelope, and an LFO Layer up to 5 simultaneous effects, including distortion, flanger, delay, reverb, low boost, and more. Perfect for musicians new to synthesizers or pros looking for authentic analog sounds, the Roland SH-201 Synth features Roland's famous Supersaw waveform, resonant filter, saturation control, and more. Great Analog-Style Sound Even though it's super fun and easy to use, the Roland SH-201 is no toy when it comes to sound. With two beefy analog-modeling oscillators onboard, complete with Roland's. Except the name, SH-201 has nothing to do with the series of SH analog synthesizers made by Roland. This is quite simple and yet easy-to-use budget synthesizer with all the main functions of a virtual analog instrument - 10-voice polyphony, a wide choice.

Features[edit]

The SH-201 is equipped with two analogue modeling oscillators (four when in Dual or Split mode), a multi-mode filter, ring modulator, and it allows routing an external audio signal into its own dedicated filter. Real-time controls feature 29 front panel knobs and sliders, assignable pitch/mod stick and Roland's infraredD-Beam controller. The synthesizer also acts as a USB audio interface for digital audio workstation recording.

The modeling and layout of filters, envelopes, oscillator types, and mix options are similar to the JP-8000. Notable differences are that the SH-201 offers more polyphony, oscillator choices, LFO routings and comes with computer software for more in-depth sound editing, patch librarian storage and DAW integration. The name SH-201 is derived from Roland's classic SH line of analog synthesizers, all of which were designed to be portable and simple to program, while the number 201 was chosen to reference the popular SH-101 which was also cased in plastic. It is also fully Windows and Mac compatible, connecting through a USB cable. MIDI and audio can be sent through the USB port.[3]
